Organic Materials
We only use what we consider to be the finest organic materials. Sustainably produced and ethically sourced – so that those materials can be given a new life one day. A product that comes from nature wants to return to nature and that’s how it should be.
WOOL
Wool is warm when you're cold and cool when you're roasting. Wool is nature's performance material, and it's also incredibly flame-resistant!
NATURAL MIRACLE
Nature has created another minor miracle, the perfect partner for alpaca wool and cotton, a super performance material: wool. Pure wool helps to ensure a good bedding products climate and works a bit like your bed’s own climate control unit. Since ancient times, people have known about wool’s amazing ability to warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm. You will stay dry and sleep at just the right temperature.
THE PERFECT RECIPE
WoW Futon products contain a mix of wool and cotton precisely blended to provide ultimate comfort while bringing naturally fire-retardant properties to our futon mattresses and mattress toppers. Wool is actually one of the most flame-resistant fibres in existence. It also possesses antistatic properties as well as being strong, elastic, water-resistant and heat-insulating.
OPTIMIZED THROUGH EVOLUTION
The wool fibre has a complex spring-like structure with a textured surface, optimized through evolution to provide thermal protection. This unique cellular structure is very different from smooth synthetic fibres.
The structure of wool fibre allows for a large volume of air between the fibres, giving amazing natural insulation properties along with flexibility, elasticity and resilience. Wool can also absorb up to 30 percent of its weight in water without feeling wet. Tiny pores allow water to pass through the wool fibre, making the material comfortable both on warm summer and cool winter nights. Sleep tight, all year round.
BENEFITS THAT LAST
The history of wool goes back thousands of years. The Babylonians and Egyptians wove with wool. The oldest example of Swedish woven wool has been dated to the Bronze Age, which would make it around 3,000 years old. But wool was not only used to produce yarn for clothing; it was used in bedding as well. Wool’s ability to warm and protect you while you are asleep and awake is the same today. By using both wool, cotton and horsetail hair as padding material, in carefully calculated combinations, we give our beds temperature-regulating properties and an unmatched natural elasticity.
COTTON
Letting the whole body breathe easily, cotton is the perfect complement to wool. Soft, strong and sympathetic.

COMFORTABLE GIFT
Cotton is perhaps nature’s softest and most comfortable gift to mankind. Providing wonderful comfort and breathability, WoW Futon soft cotton allows air to circulate around your body, keeping you dry and comfortable in a healthy sleeping environment. These benefits will help you fall asleep more quickly and stay in deep sleep for longer.
A FRESHER SLEEP THROUGH BREATHING
Human beings breathe not only through our lungs, but also through our skin. We each have more than 7 million pores that breathe and remove toxins from our bodies. To stay dry and comfortable, it is important to sleep in a mattress topper that breathes and allows air to circulate around your body.
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN COTTON AND NON-POROUS MATERIAL
You have probably noticed how cool and dry you feel on a warm summer’s day when you wear a cotton shirt or blouse rather than one made from synthetic materials. This is due to cotton’s ability to ventilate and wick away perspiration and high humidity. Your perspiration during the night is 98 percent water, so it evaporates very easily if you sleep on a mattress topper that breathes and use bed linen that does likewise.
Using non-porous synthetic materials like rubber, polyether or other synthetics offers barely any ventilation. Non-porous material retains moisture, which means that much of what the body expels through perspiration stays in the bed. And in a warm and damp environment, bed mites multiply rapidly.
ALPACA WOOL
Alpacas have always been treasured for their fibre qualities that make their yarn so special it was once reserved only for the royalty. It is not only one of the finest and softest fibres in the world, but a faultless example of nature’s wisdom.
MIKROSCOPIC POCKETS
REPAIRING SLEEP
Not unlike other wool animals such as sheep, goats and camels, alpacas grow fiber as a natural, protective barrier against inclement weather. Unlike merino wool, however, which is solid and somewhat heavy, alpaca wool is hollow and thus, surprisingly lightweight (3x lighter than merino). This hollow structure allows the fiber to trap small, microscopic pockets of air that retain heat when you need it, or expel it when you don’t.
Whatever the weather, your alpaca wool bedding will provide just the right temperature. Alpacas are native to the hills of South America and their coat has to account for both heat retention in colder times but also be incredibly thermally efficient in warmer temperatures. An alpaca mattress topper works with your internal thermostat to keep you at a comfortable temperature all night serving you 365 days of the year no matter what the thermometer reads.
NATURALLY HYPOALLERGENIC
Alpaca fibre is naturally hypoallergenic. The cool and dry environment created with the use of alpaca fibre makes it difficult for dust mites to live and breed. Alpaca bedding products are the perfect choice for sufferers of allergies, such as asthma. Made up of hollow fibres that allow water molecules to move freely, alpaca wool keeps your body cool and dry during the night preventing night sweats. Alpaca wool has an amazing ability to resist dirt and grime, excellent at staying clean.
During the night, our body temperature varies by several degrees, which causes many micro awakenings. The extreme thermoregulation of alpaca wool beddings will allow you to avoid them and have a better quality sleep.
STRONG and LONG-LASTING
There’s a reason that alpaca wool blanket your grandparents gave you is still keeping you warm, and it’s not because they coddled it for decades. It’s because wool is naturally durable and long-lasting, and when it’s integrated into a mattress topper, blanket or garment, can last for generations. According to researches, alpaca fiber can bend up to 20,000 times before breaking.
This durability far surpasses other fibers, making wool tough to tear and resistant to abrasion. But because different types of wool play host to different properties, it’s worth noting that alpaca wool is among the strongest of the different wools on the market, ranking higher than ultra soft cashmere as well as merino.
KAPOK
Kapok is safe, biodegradable, hypoallergenic, odor-free, uniform in density, moldable, and supportive. Kapok is a gigantic 200-foot tree forming the canopy of many tropical forests. Common throughout the tropics, great kapok trees can grow 13 feet yearly.
WHAT IS KAPOK USED FOR?
For centuries, kapok has been used for:
Natural healthy properties in pillow fills and mattresses, pregnancy and as support for breastfeeding and alternate medicine (the seeds, leaves, bark, and resin have been used to treat dysentery, fever, asthma, and kidney diseases)
VEGAN ALTERNATIVE TO DOWN
Kapok has natural advantages as a pillow stuffing, especially over petroleum-based polyester/polyurethane foams. While some people may have an allergy to kapok, most people do not, making this a generally hypoallergenic alternative to latex and a vegan alternative to down.
NATURALLY HYPOALLERGENIC
Kapok fibre is naturally hypoallergenic, anti-microbial, and dust mite resistant. The kapok fibre naturally repels moisture, making it unsuitable for mold, mildew, and bacteria to thrive.
FOR BETTER SLEEP
Good quality sleep is essential for our general health and well-being. To get better sleep, the head, neck, and spine must be aligned as straight as possible on a healthy comfortable pillow. Kapok pillows are soft and easily adjustable to conform to your head and neck in any sleeping position you desire—giving continued support and comfort for good-quality sleep. Organic kapok pillows' ability to repel moisture also aids in better sleep, reducing tossing and turning by keeping you cool in the head.
LINEN
Since 4500 BCE, people around the world have been wearing linens and experiencing the benefits of linen bedding. Linen, made from the fibrous flax plant, is a favorite fabric that keeps the sleeper feeling cool no matter the temperature.
KEEPING YOU GENTLY COOL
Typically, linen receives its glory throughout the summer months, but it is in fact the ideal fabric for use all-year-round. Due to its moisture-wicking capabilities, linen dries very quickly ensuring your sleep isn’t disturbed during hot summer nights where you might perspire more. The nature of linen’s weave ensures that air is able to flow through, keeping you gently cool. This does also mean it’s a wonderful fabric to sleep in during the chilly winter months too, keeping you toasty and warm once the temperatures drop.
LIKE a FINE WINE,IT ONLY GETS BETTER with AGE
Linen has ‘ageing’ down to a fine art. Not only does it look better after use and washing, the fabric also gets softer with time. You needn’t worry about pilling or your bedding looking tired if you opt for a linen option. The nature of linen fabric is that it absorbs moisture, which deepens with each wash, making it softer each time you nestle into fresh bedding.
STRONG and LONG-LASTING
Linen is an expensive material to produce owing to the fact it is made in small quantities and flax is a hard fibre to work with, requiring a great amount of skill. While linen sleep products will cost more than synthetic fabrics initially, it will also long outlive non-natural alternatives that will need replacing after a couple of years.
When good quality linen made from flax is cared for properly (which is minimal you’ll be pleased to hear!) your linen products can last for decades, ensuring less waste and ultimately less consumption. It’s worth considering the cost-per-sleep ratio on that basis.
BETTER SKIN HEALTH
Poor-quality sheets made from synthetic materials can trap moisture which causes skin irritation. Our luxury bed linen is made from breathable natural fibers so it doesn't trap heat and moisture, helping prevent skin irritations and a good night's sleep espeically in the hot summer months.
